ELECOM's In-ear Headphones and Headsets, Designed For High-Res Audio

Remember our coverage of the grand launch of one of ELECOM's latest store in SM North EDSA? Well got some news for In-Ear phone users. So here it is and I'm sure you'll be trying to look for this ear piece for your sound tripping.

ELECOM CO., LTD. got some new line of earphone designs to bring out the qualities of high-resolution audio to the fullest, the line includes two types of headphones for AV devices and two types of headsets for smartphones, for a total of four models.

High-res audio far exceeds the fidelity found in compact discs and is a file format that reproduces the finest details in a piece of audio. The company's new products are hi-fi headphones specially designed to play back high-res audio in the best state. All models use super hard brass for the housings, shutting out excess vibration from the driver yokes. The drivers themselves feature rigid vibrating plates in a radial construction; this structure prevents the distortions caused by rolling, deformation of the vibrating channel, and other issues, achieving stable linear output with maximum clarity and fidelity. The new “Magnetic Turbo Axial Port” design situates the drivers, bowls, and magnets within the same axes, allowing for a smooth response that spans from lows to peaks.

The lineup offers two models, offered in two formats for different devices: a 12.mm diameter model geared toward deep lows and clean mids and trebles, and a 9.8mm diameter model for driving lows and delicate reproduction of the mids and highs. Each model is available in a stereo mini plug format, intended for AV devices and music players, and a 4-conductor stereo mini plug format, intended for smartphones. The latter comes with a built-in microphone.

In addition to refinements in audio, ELECOM has also designed these headphones and headsets for a comfortable fit. The earpieces are offered in three sizes, letting the listener choose the best fit, and the new “Depth Fit Earpiece” design features an enlarged tip for greater airtightness and tight, deep lows. The rigidity of the earpiece interior has also been changed – not only does this achieve better fidelity and a cleaner fit, but this new structure features a deeper twin-stage layout that cuts noise. Both models utilize in-ear phones that dampen noise and keep sound played through the headphones in the listener's ear, not outside. The cables have been designed to be tangle-free and easy to move around, and they are generously sized at 1.2m. A cable keeper is also included for storing the excess length.

The smartphone-compatible models feature a condenser microphone that can be used for regular telephone calls. The remote switch contains the microphone components and allows for picking up and terminating incoming calls, as well as adjusting volume with a slider switch. Both models are available in sleekly finished silver and gold.
