I owned a flashlight like this and it is really very handy. Not only that it is light and easy to carry, it is environmental. You don't need to use any batteries all you need is your ever reliable hand and little motion to produce mechanical energy that will turn into light. Not only that you get to use it in the dark, you also get a little exercise by making a motion to crank that light. A little handy thing but can really cut down the use of unwanted materials and save our environment.
